There's a moment, entering the space, when the light seems to inhabit the material itself, breathing within it.
For Paris Design Week 2026, Giopato & Coombes presents Nokori, a site-specific installation of luminous sculptures exploring the relationship between object, material, and space.
Each piece asserts itself as an autonomous presence: volumes moving between geometric tension and organic softness, where the material interplay of glass generates layered, deep surfaces. Light is held within the matter, tracing its contours, inhabiting its form. Light becomes an intimate and sheltered structure.
Nokori composes a quiet choreography of relationships within space: distances, scales, equilibria. A presence that stays with you long after the immediate encounter.
Following its debut at Milano Design Week 2026, the installation arrives in Paris as a further step in the studio's ongoing research, reaffirming matter as a means of building presence and giving space a deeper sense of inhabitation.
