Giopato & Coombes
the exhibition

For Milano Design Week 2026, Giopato & Coombes presents Nokori — The Light That Remains, a site-specific installation of luminous sculptures exploring the relationship between object, material, and space.

Each piece asserts itself as an autonomous presence: volumes moving between geometric tension and organic softness, where the material interplay of glass generates layered, deep surfaces. Light is held within the matter, tracing its contours, inhabiting its form. Light is not an accessory effect — it is an intimate and sheltered structure.

Nokori composes a quiet choreography of relationships within space: distances, scales, equilibria. A presence that stays with you long after the immediate encounter.

A further step in the studio’s ongoing research, the installation expands Giopato & Coombes’ design language — reaffirming matter as a means of building presence and giving space a deeper sense of  inhabitation.
