Giopato & Coombes designs and produces iconic, contemporary lighting sculptures.
The company founded by Cristiana Giopato and Christopher Coombes began as a design studio researching into the power of light, and its ability to evoke moments, memories, and emotions.
To make this happen the studio has expanded to oversee local production around the Venice region, where the importance of human connections rings true, as world-class craftsmanship intertwines with cutting-edge LED technology.
Giopato & Coombes works with a few selected dealers/galleries and receives commissions directly from luxury brands and notable interior designers from around the world to create made-to-measure installations.

Who we are looking for?

We are looking for a Senior Product Development Specialist, dedicated to product engineering, who wishes to push beyond his/her/their design limits. He/she/they will join our dream team in our technical office, focusing on product development & industrialization activities.
He/she/they will ensure product development by transforming concepts into producible items in compliance with regulations, cost-effectiveness, and quality-defined standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop the technical solutions of the new concepts in collaboration with the internal Concept Design team.

• Researches and defines materials, components, and production processes related to each element of the lighting product.

• Collaborate in the definition of BOM by providing instructions relating to each component and its production transformations.

• Verify the mechanical and lighting limitations of the product aiming at continuous improvement in terms of performance, productivity, and quality.

• During the design phase, ensure compliance with the appropriate regulations and be the person in charge of interaction with certifying agencies.

• Research new lighting technologies, and manage their correct application.

• Collaborate with the Purchasing Department searching for new suppliers.

Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of the lighting technology sector and the related CE and UL regulations

• Knowledge of the main parametric design software (Autodesk Inventor preferred)

• Knowledge of management software (SAP preferred) and Office suite

• Proficient in English

• Fluent in Italian
