What we are looking for

We are looking for a talented Design Engineer to join our fast-growing Engineering Studio. It is a role where product innovation, process improvement and flawless execution are key. This team is at the core of our competitive advantage and acts as the fulcrum between the Creative Direction, Production and Sales Teams as we search for the bleeding edge of mechanical and electrical innovation within the luminaire industry.

Your role

You will be working within a team reporting directly to Co-founder and Industrial Designer Christopher Coombes. On a daily basis you will be researching and developing new products as well as improving existing products. This can involve thermal analysis, cost estimates, safety tests, prototyping, design detailing, environmental impact amongst many other activities. On a broader level you will also work on improving design and production processes with particular focus on quality control and customer feedback.


• Develop new products based on input from the Creative Direction team, including the supervision of prototype production and evaluation.

• Improve specific aspects of existing products, including performance updates, production efficiencies, quality control issues, cost redesigns.

• Research and implement new LED lighting and control technologies.

• Ensure products are in line with luminaire standards.


• Active learning approach to gain deep knowledge of our existing product line and industry standards.

• Find simple customer centric solutions to complex problems, where all links in the chain must be respected (from artisan to electrician).

• Develop positive relationships in a highly collaborative environment with strong verbal and visual communication skills.

• Precise and detail oriented.

• Autonomous time management and priority planning with weekly check-in meetings.


• At least 3 years of experience in a similar role.

• BA or MA Degree in Industrial Design or Engineering.

• Experience with 3d parametric software, Autodesk Inventor preferred.

• Fluent or Professional in Italian. English preferred.
